Life has a funny way of running away when you least expect it! It's hard to believe it's been about a year since I last posted anything here, but the calendar doesn't lie! In this extended period of time, I have gone from cooking in a large home with family, to flying solo in the kitchen. My kids have grown--the older one graduating from culinary school and the "baby" is now a U.S. Marine! I couldn't be more proud of them!! I've moved into a smaller place and a quieter life style and it's all good! This freedom to set my own schedule and explore the world as time permists has been both exciting and even frightening at times...large, noisy family celebrations replaced by more subdued, introspective affairs. Living alone has given me the opportunity to experiment with ingredients and techniques that would have met with outright rebellion in the past...some experiments have been successful and others.......well.....let's just say that there may be a value beyond company in acquiring a dog for a pet! I have learned more about the connection between food and health and am applying those lessons to the dishes I make. I hope to share some of those insites and recipes in future months here. Suffice to say that, at this time, life is good and I look forward to each day for what it has to offer. I have found willing accomplaces to share these adventures with and awake each day optimistic and curious about the world around me!Thursday, May 13, 2010
